Food that reduce cholesterol

Cholesterol, is one major disease many of us suffering from. When you eat some food that contains a high amount of cholesterol such as eggs. There are two types of cholesterol mainly, HDL (High-density lipoprotein) and LDL (Low-density lipoprotein). Among them, LDL can be really bad for your health.

The low-density lipoprotein clogs up your artery walls and makes them narrower, as a result, it leads to a condition called Atherosclerosis. If not treated well, Atherosclerosis can be fatal.

As always, prevention is better than cure. It is better to avoid fatty foods and to include some food that reduces cholesterol. Here is a list of such foods that you can include in your diet.

Along with a proper diet, regular exercise is also necessary. As always, we don’t want you to hit the gym tomorrow and start lifting, it is recommended to start something easier such as brisk walking or cycling and slowly increase frequency and intensity as your endurance increases.

shows that avocado can reduce the amount of LDL in the body. Here is what the study says.

 

We were able to show that when people incorporated one avocado a day into their diet, they had fewer small, dense LDL particles than before the diet,” said Penny Kris-Etherton, distinguished professor of nutrition, who added that small, dense LDL particles are particularly harmful for promoting plaque buildup in the arteries. “Consequently, people should consider adding avocados to their diet in a healthy way, like on whole-wheat toast or as a veggie dip.

Nuts are another good food that should be included in your diet. They do not contain any bad cholesterol and some studies have been showing that nuts lower cholesterol. So it is good to include nuts in your diet. Especially walnuts and almonds. Some studies have proven that oatmeals and almonds reduce cholesterol in the blood.

Vegetables are good sources of fibres that are good for your health. Fibre in diet can reduce bad cholesterol or LDL. Thus, including more different kinds of vegetables in your body helps to reduce cholesterol in your body.

Oats are probably another superfood that should be included in your diet. Oatmeal is a good source of fibre and fibre is good to reduce bad cholesterol. Include Oats and other whole-grain foods in your breakfast regularly to add more fibre to your diet.
